The expected value is a long-run average, not a required batch total. A fair set of 100 flips can reasonably produce 46 heads and 54 tails.

Multiple coin probability

Flipping n coins produces 2n equally likely ordered sequences. Several sequences can share the same number of heads. For example, HHT, HTH, and THH all contain two heads.

Use the coin flip probability calculator to find the chance of exactly, at least, or at most a chosen number of heads.

Frequently asked questions

Can I flip a coin 100 times?

Yes. Choose 100 to generate every result plus the heads and tails totals.

Are all results independent?

Yes. Each coin receives its own secure random value. Earlier outcomes do not change later ones.

What is the chance of all heads?

For n fair flips, the probability is 1 divided by 2n.
